Maharashtra Board SSC Result 2025: MSBSHSE To Announce Results By May 15, Ahead Of Last Year’s Schedule

Mumbai: With the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) announcing the results of the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examination on Monday, attention has now turned towards the declaration of results for the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations.

“The SSC exam results will be declared by May 15,” confirmed Sharad Gosavi, Chairperson of the MSBSHSE, while speaking to The Free Press Journal. This year, over 16 lakh students across Maharashtra appeared for the SSC exams, which were conducted between 21 February and 17 March.

Like the HSC results, the SSC results are also expected to be announced earlier than in previous years. In 2024, the HSC results were declared on 21 May, followed by the SSC results on 27 May. However, this year, the HSC results have been announced significantly earlier on 5 May, and the SSC results are also being advanced accordingly, said Gosavi.

In 2024, more than 15 lakh students had registered for the SSC examinations, and the overall pass percentage stood at 95.81%. With an even higher number of candidates appearing this year, the early declaration of results is being viewed as a proactive step by the board.

Education experts have welcomed the MSBSHSE's decision to expedite the results. Speaking to this newspaper, Mahendra Ganpule, former President of the Maharashtra Headmasters’ Association, praised the move.

“With both HSC and SSC results being declared earlier, students who unfortunately do not pass all subjects will have additional time to prepare for the re-examinations. More importantly, those planning to appear for entrance examinations will have more clarity and time to strategise for their next steps,” he said.

Ganpule also added that this initiative would help students and parents make informed decisions about future academic and career pursuits without the stress of delayed results.
