Uttarakhand Madrasa board chairman supports Waqf Act
Mufti Shamoon Qasmi, chairman of Uttarakhand Madrasa Education Board, has come out in support of the Waqf Amendment Act, 2025.
Addressing the media here today, Qasmi termed the Act as a historic step for the Muslim community and criticised the Congress Party and some Muslim organisations for opposing it.
“The Waqf Amendment Act, 2025, will ensure transparency and accountability in the management of Waqf properties, so that these properties can be used for the welfare of the Muslim community,” he said.
The Act will not only check corruption in the Waqf Board but will also ensure that Waqf properties are effectively used for educational, social and economic development of the community, he added.
