Rajya Sabha MP leads protest in Solan

The BJP took out a protest march here today demanding that Pakistani nationals residing in the state be immediately identified and deported to their country. It presented a memorandum to the Governor and the Chief Minister through the Deputy Commissioner claiming a large number of Pakistani nationals were living in Himachal.

Rajya Sabha MP Sikander Kumar told mediapersons that there were 15 Pakistani nationals, who should be deported at the earliest. The state had already deported 10 Pakistani nationals. Two of them had come to Solan on medical visa for the treatment of a child at the Indian Muscular Dystrophy Institute near Solan. The BJP marched from the old guesthouse till the old Deputy Commissioner’s office demanding the immediate deportation of the Pakistani nationals.

The BJP leaders requested the state government to initiate the process to identify Pakistani citizens living in the state as soon as possible and send them back to their country in stipulated time.

Others leaders such as BJP vice-president Rashim Dhar Sood, district president Rattan Pal and state BJP spokesperson Vivek Sharma took part in the protest.

In Nurpur, Sullah MLA Vipin Parmar led BJP activists of Nurpur organisational district to hold a protest against the Pahalgam attack.

Parmar accused the state government of protecting Pakistani people in the state. “The country is already suffering the consequences of Bangladeshi and Rohingya intruders. If the same mistake is repeated in Himachal, the BJP will not sit silent,” he added.
