BJP delegation urges swift action to deport illegal Pakistani nationals
A delegation of the Bharatiya Janata Party submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner of Jalandhar, urging the administration to take immediate steps to identify and deport Pakistani nationals living illegally in the district.
The delegation, led by the Jalandhar Urban District President of the party, submitted the memorandum to Deputy Commissioner Dr Himanshu Aggarwal. It demanded that all individuals from Pakistan residing in the district without valid documentation, with expired visas or whose visas have been suspended, be located and legal action be initiated against them without delay.
The memorandum referred to the terrorist attack that took place on April 22, 2025, in the Pahalgam area of Jammu and Kashmir, where 26 unarmed civilians lost their lives. Describing the attack as brutal and planned by the Pakistani intelligence agency in coordination with the Pakistani military, the memorandum stated that this act had shocked the entire nation. It further mentioned that global support is rallying behind India in its stand against terrorism and those who shelter and abet such acts.
In light of these developments, the memorandum cited an order issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, under Order No. 25022/28/2025 dated April 25, 2025, along with Section 3(1) of the Visa Act, 1946, which suspends visa services for Pakistani nationals, excluding long-term and diplomatic or official visas.
Emphasising the issue as one of national security, the memorandum stated that swift identification and legal processing of such individuals would strengthen public confidence.
