2-yr-old boy dies after falling into water container

Padia: A 2-year-old boy tragically died after accidentally falling into a water container in Keriaguda village under Undhurukonda panchayat and Kalimela police limits in Malkangiri district Monday.

The deceased was identified as Mahesh Madhi, son of Dule and Unga Madhi in the village. The incident occurred when the child’s father, Unga had gone to the forest to collect firewood while his mother, Dule, had gone nearby to relieve herself.

During this time, the child was playing near the house and accidentally fell into a plastic container filled with water for washing utensils.

When Dule returned, she found the child partially submerged and unresponsive. She immediately pulled him out of the water, but the child had already died.

Kalimela police registereda  case of unnatural death and sent the body to the Kalimela community health centre for post-mortem.
