Seedha Sawaal: Who Will Stop Digital Terrorists Spreading Hate in India, Asks Ashutosh
In a heated television debate, senior journalist and political commentator Ashutosh raised critical concerns about the unchecked rise of digital terrorism in India. Referring to the online abuse faced by a young girl named Himanshi for her courageous stand, Ashutosh condemned the toxic digital ecosystem where hate is normalized and trolls operate with impunity. He questioned the government's silence and accused the system of being complicit, stating, "These digital terrorists are flourishing under patronage."Ashutosh also drew parallels with the 2017 case of Gurmehar Kaur, daughter of martyr Captain Mandeep Singh, who was brutally trolled for advocating peace. He emphasized that those spreading hate often pride themselves as “sanskari Hindus” while lacking basic decency and empathy. According to him, not only are these individuals mentally ill, but their families too should feel ashamed. He expressed disappointment over the lack of condemnation from major BJP leaders and right-wing organizations, stating that their silence gives legitimacy to hate. Concluding emotionally, Ashutosh said, “This hate is not India,” and called for collective action to identify and act against such digital offenders.
