'Supla vs Snake Shot'! Suryakumar Yadav & Rashid Khan’s Involved In Lighthearted Banter Before MI vs GT IPL 2025 Match; Video
Mumbai Indians (MI) gear up to face Gujarat Titans (GT) in a high-stakes IPL 2025 match at the Wankhede Stadium on Tuesday, May 6. Ahead of the match, Mumbai Indians shared a video on their social media, in which Suryakumar Yadav and GT's spin wizard Rashid Khan were involved in friendly banter with pacer Mohammed Siraj joining in on the fun.
In the video, Suryakumar is seen pulling Rashid’s leg over his trademark batting style. Referring to Rashid’s unconventional shot that’s earned the nickname “snake shot,” Surya joked,
“Aap snake maro… snake shot maro toh woh chalta hai… aap karo to dance aur hum kare to….”At that moment, Siraj came in with a perfect punchline “Belly dance.”
While the off-field banter brought smiles, the on-field rivalry is anything but casual. Suryakumar Yadav, often hailed as “India’s 360° player” has had the upper hand over Rashid Khan in their IPL face-offs.
In their previous encounters in the league, Surya has faced Rashid for 64 deliveries, scoring 91 runs at a striking rate of 142.2 without being dismissed even once. Rashid, despite his world-class skills, has managed only 19 dot balls against the MI batter.
Rashid, although renowned for his bowling, has also made a name for himself as a handy lower-order hitter. His “snake shot,” played with powerful wristwork and a strong bottom hand, has become a fan favorite over the years.
