Not Madhuri Dixit, Tina Ambani or Maanayata Dutt, Sanjay Dutt wanted to marry THIS actress, once proposed her, she refused because…
Sanjay Dutt, the son of legendary actors Sanjay and Nargis Dutt, comes from a family deeply rooted in the legacy of Indian cinema. Over the decades, he has carved out his own identity as an actor, earning admiration for his talent, screen presence and resilience. It’s no surprise that he continues to be celebrated by fans and peers alike. However, few might be familiar that as a child, he once proposed to the stunning actress Saira Banu, expressing his desire to marry her.
Saira Banu, who shared a close bond with the Dutt family, recently shared a nostalgic and heartwarming post on Instagram, recounting how ‘young Sanju’ once asked her to marry him in the childhood. Sharing a picture of Sanjay with her late husband, Dilip Kumar, she reminisced, “@duttsanjay has always been like family to me. My entire family, from Ammaji to Aapaji, to Sahib, and to me, we’ve watched him grow from a tiny toddler into the remarkable person he is today.”
Reflecting on the delightful memories she shared with Sanjay Dutt and his late mother, Nargis Dutt, Banu shared, “I still remember when Nargis Aapa would come to our house for functions, and he would accompany her – this cute, good-looking kid… Nargis Ji would then shake his hands and say, ‘Chalo, Saira Ji ko bolo tum kya bolte ho mujhe?’ And then Sanju would look at me and say, ‘Main Shaila Banu se shaadi karunga’ in a cute little voice. Hahahah, so adorable! I believe Sharmila Tagore and I were the top favorites of Sanju.”
The endearing revelation was part of her birthday wish for the actor. She concluded the post with a heartfelt message, “Many hands make light work. And we’ve all cherished being part of his journey. He holds a special place in my heart. With all my love and blessings, I wish him a very happy birthday.”
With over 135 films to his credit, Sanjay Dutt remains one of Bollywood’s most admirable stars. Meanwhile, on the work front, he is gearing up for his next Kannada venture KD- The Devil, opposite the stellar cast including Dhruva Sarja, Reeshma Nanaiah, V. Ravichandran, Ramesh Aravind, Shilpa Shetty, Jisshu Sengupta, and Nora Fatehi.
