Video Of Men Dancing On DJ Outside Kedarnath Temple Goes Viral, Police Launch Probe

The police in Uttarakhand's Rudraprayag district have launched a probe after a video of some men dancing outside Kedarnath Temple has gone viral on social media.

Confirming the video, the Rudrapryag police said that the viral clip has been going round on social media since Monday evening. In the video, some men are seeing dancing on the DJ outside one of the four revered places of the Char Dham.

However, the police have said that the incident took place before the portals of temple opened. Despite this, a case has been registered against unknown persons, considering the seriousness of the incident.

The police are using different medium to verify the authenticity, timing, and identity of the people seen in the video. The men seen in the video have been identified, the cops said, adding legal action will be taken against the persons concerned.

The Rudraprayag police have also appealed to the general public not to share or broadcast this video. Doing so will be considered a violation of law along with hurting the dignity and sanctity of the religious place.

It is the responsibility of every citizen to maintain the dignity of a holy place like Kedarnath. Such acts committed by some anti-social elements not only hurt religious beliefs but also spread a wrong message in the entire society, said the cops.

Devotees and tourists have also been urged maintain decency at Kedarnath Dham and avoid any kind of inappropriate activities. They also requested the devotees and tourists to report any suspicious activity.
