New Delhi: Virat Kohli's controversies have just become hotter, with singer Rahul Vaidya getting involved. Days after Virat Kohli explained why he liked an actress Avneet Kaur's post, citing Instagram's algorithm, Rahul Vaidya publicly insulted the cricketer, escalating tensions.

Taking to Instagram Stories, Rahul Vaidya mocked Virat Kohli’s fans, sharing a note that read, “Virat Kohli’s fans are even bigger jokers than Virat!”

Rahul Vaidya also said that Kohli's public relations team had planned a campaign against him, saying that his sister and wife, Disha Parmar, who are unrelated to the scandal, were also subject to the reaction. The musician called Virat Kohli's followers "jokers" for their behaviour and asked them to focus their criticism only on him and not on his family.

Expressing his frustration, Rahul wrote, “And now you are abusing me that’s fine but you are abusing my wife my sister.. who have nothing to do with this! So I was right. That’s why you all Virat Kohli fans are jokers! 2 kaudi ke jokers.”

Recently, Virat Kohli found himself embroiled in an unanticipated controversy when observant social media users saw that a post from an actress Avneet Kaur page had been liked by Virat's verified Instagram account. In response, the cricket player provided a quick explanation on Instagram Stories.

Virat wrote, "I'd like to clarify that while clearing my feed, it appears the algorithm may have mistakenly registered an interaction. There was absolutely no intent behind it. I request that no unnecessary assumptions be made. Thank you for your understanding."

Rahul Vaidya had earlier claimed that Virat Kohli had blocked him on Instagram, mockingly suggesting that the cricketer’s algorithm might have been responsible for that as well.
