When Diljit met Shakira in style: Candid laughs, luxe photoshoot and dinner at the same Met Gala table

Amid the buzz surrounding singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh’s debut at the Met Gala 2025, his interaction with Colombian singer Shakira has captivated fans.

Both Diljit and Shakira attended the Met Gala 2025 in  Nepalese-American fashion designer Prabal Gurung’s creations. The duo, joined by Gurung, singer Nicole Scherzinger and others, even posed for a pre-red carpet photoshoot together.

Shakira later shared a behind-the-scenes video on Instagram, panning her camera inside a luxurious vehicle to introduce Diljit, Nicole and others. When the camera turned to the Punjabi star, she warmly exclaimed, “Diljit! Diljit!” to which he responded with a traditional “Namaste” gesture. Shakira quickly followed up with a cheerful, “Hi to India!”

Diljit was also among the select few invited to dine at Anna Wintour’s exclusive Met Gala dinner. Wintour, the editor-in-chief of Vogue, is the iconic host of the annual fashion extravaganza.

Diljit was seated at Prabal’s table inside the gala, rubbing shoulders with Shakira, among other global icons.

Pictures of him sharing the table with pop icon Shakira were widely circulated on social media.

Met Gala 2025 marked Diljit’s debut at the Hollywood’s biggest fashion night.
