Doctors perform rare abdominal stent grafting for aortic dissection at Kolkata hospital
Doctors at IPGMER successfully performed a rare stent grafting procedure on a 66-year-old aortic dissection patient. Due to a narrow femoral artery, the traditional groin access was not feasible. Instead, surgeons innovatively accessed the aorta through an abdominal incision, a first-of-its-kind approach in eastern India, with the patient recovering well.
