India welcomes its first Universal Studios: A new era of entertainment begins

Visiting Universal Studios Hollywood has been on the vacation list for many. Universal Studios originated in the U.S. and has evolved over the years, establishing major parks in the U.S., Singapore, Japan, and China, and finally making its way into India.

As one of Hollywood's most iconic entertainment giants enters the country, it is set to transform the Indian industry and leisure landscape. Beyond its possible economic impact, the launch marks a deeper cultural and industrial collaboration between Hollywood and the Indian entertainment industry, paving the way for more creative collaborations in the future.

Universal Studios India could redefine audience expectations and elevate the country's entertainment standard with cutting-edge attractions, leaving the audience in awe.

The suggested venue is set to be part of a massive 3-million-square-foot retail development near Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport, scheduled to open by mid-2027. Bharti Enterprises is set to lease 300,000 sq ft of its upcoming 3-million sq ft mall for this amusement park.

"We have reserved 10% of the total leasable area for a global entertainment park," said SK Sayal, CEO of Bharti Real Estate, to Economic Times.

Once fully operational, the project is anticipated to generate over ₹5,000 crores in annual rental income, with 6.5 million square feet of development underway and investments exceeding ₹6,595 crores.

Although a confirmation from Universal Studios is awaited, excitement is mounting over what could be one of the most thrilling additions to India's leisure and tourism scene in years. It is an exciting time for movie buffs across the country. Offering an exhilarating mix of rides and themed attractions, from Harry Potter to Despicable Me, the theme park is set to blow your mind.
