Airports Closed: 18 airports temporarily closed, more than 200 flights cancelled, check details before travelling
Air India flights to and from stations such as Jammu, Srinagar, Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Chandigarh and Rajkot have been cancelled till 0529 hrs IST on 10th May.
Airports Closed: More than 200 flights have been cancelled in view of the restrictions imposed in view of India launching missile attacks against Pakistan on Wednesday morning. Apart from this, 18 airports in the northern and western parts of the country, including Srinagar, have been temporarily closed. According to PTI news, Air India, Indigo, SpiceJet, Air India Express, Akasa Air and some foreign airlines have cancelled services between many cities of North India.
Air India flights cancelled till May 10
Amid the heightened tension with Pakistan, Srinagar, Leh, Jammu, Amritsar, Pathankot, Chandigarh, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Shimla, Dharamshala and Jamnagar airports have been closed as a precautionary measure. IndiGo alone has cancelled around 160 flights. The airline said that Air India flights to and from stations like Jammu, Srinagar, Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Chandigarh and Rajkot are being cancelled till 0529 hrs IST on May 10. The airline also said in a post on X that passengers holding valid tickets for travel during this period will be offered a one-time waiver on rescheduling charges or a full refund for cancellations.
IndiGo cancels these flights for today
IndiGo said that in view of the current situation, flights to and from Srinagar, Jammu, Amritsar, Leh, Chandigarh, Dharamshala, Bikaner and Jodhpur have been canceled for today. The airline said in a post on X that we are anticipating changes in flight schedules across our network and sincerely advise all customers to stay updated about their flight status before going to the airport.
Delhi airport significantly affected
In an update on social media platform X, SpiceJet said airports in parts of north India, including Dharamsala, Leh, Jammu, Srinagar and Amritsar, are closed till further notice. Departures, arrivals and consequent flights may be affected. Affected passengers can opt for a full refund or an alternate flight as per availability. At least 35 flights to and from Delhi airport, the country’s largest and busiest airport, have been cancelled since 12 am, a source said. The source said 23 domestic departures and eight arrivals were cancelled. In addition, four international departures were cancelled.
Akasa Air also cancelled flights
Akasa Air said in a post on X that due to the prevailing situation in the region, all its flights to and from Srinagar have been cancelled. Regional carrier Star Air said its flights to and from Nanded, Hindon, Adampur, Kishangarh and Bhuj were cancelled for today. Qatar Airways said in a post on X that it had temporarily suspended flights to Pakistan due to the closure of Pakistani airspace. In a bid to avenge the Pahalgam terror attack, Indian armed forces launched missile strikes on nine terror camps in Pakistan and PoK in the wee hours of Wednesday under Operation Sindoor, including a Jaish-e-Mohammed stronghold in Bahawalpur and a Lashkar-e-Taiba hideout in Muridke.
