23-year-old youth attacked in Sirsa, dies

A youth, Amrik Singh, was attacked by armed attackers at Ding Mod Chowk on National Highway 9 in Sirsa district, on Tuesday evening. Amrik Singh (23), from Patli Dabar village, was on his way to buy household items on his motorcycle when the attackers attacked him with sharp-edged weapons. He fell to the ground after being seriously injured.

Locals rushed Amrik to the Sirsa Civil Hospital where doctors declared him dead. His body was moved to the hospital morgue. Amrik was unmarried and had been working as a MGNREGA (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act) labourer for several years. His father works as a preacher at Gurdwara Sahib. Amrik was the youngest among his siblings. The police have registered a case. The SHO of Ding Mandi, Pradeep Kumar, confirmed that the post-mortem will provide more clarity on the cause of death.
