95.03% Pass Rate In Tamil Nadu Class 12 Result 2025, Ariyalur Leads With 98.82%
Tamil Nadu 12th Result 2025: The Tamil Nadu Directorate of Government Examinations announced the Class 12 board exam results on Thursday with Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi releasing the results in a press conference. This year, Ariyalur district emerged at the top, recording the highest success rate in the state at an impressive 98.82%.
Tamil Nadu 12th Result 2025: District Wise Pass Percentage
The Class 12 board exams were conducted from March 3 to March 25, 2025. A total of 7,92,494 students appeared for the examinations across Tamil Nadu.
In terms of district-wise performance, Erode followed Ariyalur with a 97.98% pass rate, while Tiruppur, Coimbatore, and Kanyakumari posted 97.53%, 97.48%, and 97.01% respectively.

Girl Students Outperform Boys
Out of all the candidates, 7,53,142 students successfully cleared the examination, pushing the overall pass percentage to 95.03%. This marks a slight increase of 0.47% from last year’s 94.56%.
A notable gender-wise trend continued this year as well, with female students outperforming their male counterparts. Of the total examinees, 4,19,316 were girls, while 3,73,178 were boys. The pass percentage for girls stood at 96.70%, compared to 93.16% for boys — a gap of 3.54% in favor of the girls.
Approximately 135 students scored full marks in Tamil, 1,125 in Biology, 3,181 in Chemistry, 3,022 in Mathematics, and 9,536 in Computer Science. Around 26,887 private school students secured 100 marks in at least one subject. Around 2,853 government school students secured centum in at least one of the subjects.
Among those serving jail terms, 130 of 140 students passed the exam. Among 16,904 private candidates, 5,500 students passed the exams.
