Meta takes down 23,000+ Facebook pages and accounts related to investment scams

Meta has removed over 23,000 Facebook Pages and accounts involved in investment and payment scams, primarily targeting users in Brazil and India. Scammers used deepfakes of influencers and celebrities to promote fraudulent schemes. Meta is collaborating with Indian authorities and rolling out new safety tools to help users recognize and avoid these scams across its platforms.
