Pune VIDEO: PMC Cracks Down On Iconic Goodluck Café And Vaishali Restaurant In Surprise Encroachment Drive

The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) launched a major anti-encroachment drive in major locations across Pune. The encroachment drive was also conducted at the iconic Goodluck Café and Vaishali Restaurant on Fergusson College Road. The drive was also conducted in Jangli Maharaj Road (JM Road) and Deccan areas.

PMC’s Encroachment Department carried out demolition work using JCB machines to demolish unauthorized extensions outside the café, which were reportedly built on the side margins. These included additional seating areas and semi-permanent structures like tin roofs, all deemed illegal by PMC authorities. The action began on Wednesday evening.

According to officials, Goodluck Café had violated municipal norms by expanding into open public space. The café’s extended seating area, built to accommodate more customers, was found to be in breach of setback rules. Following action at Goodluck Café, PMC also took action on Vaishali Restaurant on Fergusson Road. Authorities found encroachments in the form of extended external structures, which were also removed during the operation.
