Govt says 'Operation Sindoor' is still ongoing, 100 terrorists killed so far

The government, on Thursday, said as many as 100 terrorists were killed in 'Operation Sindoor' launched against terrorist hideouts in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
According to media reports, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh told the leaders at an all-party meeting that the operation is still underway and hence it is difficult to provide the exact number of terrorists killed in the strikes.
Further, the government said it will not take any action on its part until Pakistan makes any provocative move.
The leaders reportedly shared their concerns over the issue of national security and the safety of all Indians, especially in border areas, even as they extended all support to the government to show that the nation stands united in the fight against terrorism.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju told reporters after the meeting that it was convened to evolve a broad political consensus on the issue. "The defence minister told the meeting that it was an ongoing operation and that is why he cannot share the technical details of Operation Sindoor that was launched by Indian armed forces," he said.

The entire nation is united with the government and the armed forces, Rijiju added.
Leaders of several parties were present at the meeting, which was also attended by Home Minister Amit Shah, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar.
Further, Rijiju hit out at Pakistan for propagating fake news against India and urged people "not to trust any fake news coming out of the country or from within the country and to trust only authentic information."
