Rupali Ganguly SLAMS Fawad Khan For Calling India's Operation Sindoor 'Shameful': 'You Working In Indian Films Was Also...'

Anupamaa actress Rupali Ganguly strongly criticised Pakistani actor Fawad Khan after he termed India's recent military operation in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and Pakistan, Operation Sindoor, a "shameful attack."

Reacting to a news article about Fawad's statement, Rupali took to X (formerly known as Twitter) and wrote, "You working in Indian films was also 'shameful' for us."

Her remark sparked a flurry of reactions online, with many netizens supporting her stance and slamming the Pakistani actor.

Fawad Khan, who has previously worked in several Bollywood films including Kapoor & Sons and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, posted on Instagram on Wednesday expressing grief over the lives lost in Pakistan following the strike.

His post read, "My deepest condolences to the families of those injured and killed in this shameful attack. I pray for the souls of the deceased and strength for their loved ones in the days to come."

He further added, "A respectful request to all: stop stoking the flames with rabble-rousing words. It is not worth the lives of innocent people. May better sense prevail. InshaAllah. Pakistan Zindabad."

While Fawad's Instagram handle is now reportedly blocked in India, screenshots of his statement have gone viral, fueling outrage across social media.

Other Pakistani celebrities like Mahira Khan, Hania Aamir and Sajal Aly also called India's act 'cowardly'.

Operation Sindoor was a targeted military action against terrorist camps in PoK. However, Fawad's comments have been seen by many in India as insensitive and anti-national, especially given his prior work in the Indian film industry.

In the wee hours of Wednesday (May 7), the Indian Armed Forces targeted and struck nine terror launch pads in Pakistan and PoK, to avenge the horrifying terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam on April 22, that killed 26 innocent people.
