Maharashtra Crime: MBVV Police Arrest 30-Year-Old Man In Virar East Drug Bust, Seizes Over 10 Kg Of Cannabis Worth ₹3.03 Lakh

Palghar, Maharashtra: In a significant drug bust in Virar East, the Mira Bhayandar Vasai Virar (MBVV) Police Commissionerate's Crime Branch Unit 3, apprehended a man in possession of over 10 kilograms of cannabis, valued at Rs. 3.03 lakh.

Acting on a tip-off that a person would be arriving in Virar East to sell illegal narcotics, Police Inspector Shahuraj Ranavare instructed his team to verify the information and take prompt action. As per the directions of senior officials, Sub-Inspector Suhas Kamble, along with a police team and two independent witnesses, laid a trap in the Chandan Sar area of Katkari Pada on the evening of May 7.

At approximately 9 pm, the suspect arrived at the location on a white scooter and was immediately intercepted by the police. Upon questioning, he identified himself as Akash Ajit Jadhav, 30, a resident of the same locality.

A subsequent search of Jadhav’s bag and parcels, conducted in the presence of witnesses, yielded 10.1 kilograms of cannabis, estimated to have a street value of Rs. 3.03 lakh. Jadhav was immediately taken into custody, and the narcotics were seized as evidence.

Following the seizure, a formal complaint was filed at Virar Police Station against Jadhav under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985. He has been presented before the Virar Police Station for further legal action.
