All markets closed in Lahore amid escalating India-Pakistan war; Here’s what we know

All markets have been closed in Lahore, Pakistan, as tensions escalated between India and Pakistan. Moreover, the Pakistan Government imposed a lockdown following a large-scale attack by India on Islamabad, Lahore and Sialkot. For the second night in a row, Pakistan, a known terror country, launched drone and missile attacks targeting several locations in Jammu and Kashmir. On Thursday, three military stations have been targeted in Jammu by Pakistan using missiles and drones, according to India’s military.

The Indian army forces also said they neutralised the attack with kinetic and non-kinetic methods. There are blackouts in multiple regions including Jammu, Udhampur, Kishtwar, Akhnoor, Samba, Srinagar, and Anantnag. According to media, a Pakistan air force has also been captured by Indian security forces after ejecting from his fighter jet over the city of Jaisalmer. The pilot’s identity hasn’t been disclosed yet, according to news sources.

So far, there have been no confirmed reports of causalities or structural damange in Jammu as the whole situation is evolving. The policy advisory reassured the public, “No unnecessary vehicular movement should be taken. There is no need to panic. Authorities will have the situation under control.” Authorities have advised residents in affected areas to remain indoors and adhere strictly to safety guidelines. The situation remains tense, with security forces on high alert.

The attack by Pakistan came after India carried out strikes on nine terror attacks within Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
