Empowering educators: FDP on service rules for teachers concludes
A one-week faculty development programme (FDP) on “Service Rules and Regulations for Teachers in Higher Education” was successfully organised in hybrid mode at Shaheed Capt Vikram Batra Government College, Palampur. The programme saw enthusiastic participation from over 450 faculty members across Himachal Pradesh, including Principals from more than a dozen government colleges.
Over seven days, the FDP covered a comprehensive range of topics crucial for faculty working in higher education institutions. These included Conduct Rules, CCS (CCA) Rules, TA Rules, Pension Rules, File and Record Management, Procurement Procedures, GeM Purchases, the RTI Act and key areas such as Annual Confidential Reports (ACR) and Academic Performance Indicators (API). Renowned experts and officers from the Himachal Pradesh Finance and Accounts Services (HPFAS), Himachal Institute of Public Administration (HIPA) and senior academicians from prestigious institutions served as resource persons. Their insightful sessions, enriched with practical examples, official references and real-life case studies, greatly enhanced participants’ understanding of complex service regulations.
The valedictory session was presided over by Prof Pankaj Sood, Principal of SCVB Government College, Palampur, who served as the chief guest. He commended the organising team for the thoughtful planning and effective execution of this much-needed initiative. Participants praised the programme for its relevance, depth and real-world applicability, recognising it as a significant stride towards strengthening administrative competence among educators.
Dr Ajay Thakur, organising secretary of the programme, extended heartfelt thanks to the resource persons, participants and support staff for their dedicated involvement. He emphasised the importance of such initiatives in promoting institutional governance and equipping teachers with a strong understanding of service rules.
