Meet Pope Leo XIV, a mathematics graduate with proficiency in 7 languages

Cardinal Robert Prevost has been elected as Pope Leo XIV, the first US-born pontiff, succeeding the late Pope Francis. Addressing a large crowd from St. Peter's Basilica, Pope Leo XIV called for peace and honored his predecessor. The 69-year-old, originally from Chicago, brings global experience from his missionary work in South America and is expected to continue Pope Francis' reforms.
