Video of cylinder-laden truck exploding in Dharavi, Mumbai, viral as Indian missile attack in Sialkot
After India launched Operation Sindoor targeting terrorist bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), several unverified videos and images claiming to be related to the conflict went viral on social media. BRS leader Y Satheesh Reddy shared a video that shows a loud explosion on a street lined with buses/trucks parked on one side with the claim that the footage was from Sialkot after India fired missiles targeting the city.
A fortnight after a terrorist attack in Pahalgam had killed 26 people, Indian Armed Forces in the early hours of May 7 hit nine sites in Pakistan and PoK from where attacks against India had been planned and directed. The Union ministry of defence described the action as “focused, measured and non-escalatory in nature”. Late on May 7, reports came in of heavy mortar shelling by Pakistan on forward villages along the Line of Control in Poonch and Rajouri areas of Jammu and Kashmir.
At the time of writing of this article, Reddy had deleted this post in question. However, a screenshot of it can be seen below:

The X account ‘@Thatdammgurl’ posted this video clip with the same claim. However, the post describes the video as unverified visuals. At the time of the writing of this article, it received more than 18 Lakh views. (Archive link)

This video clip is also being posted on Facebook as visuals from Sialkot.
Fact Check
A reverse image search using frames from the viral footage revealed that the footage actually showed an explosion that occurred inside a truck loaded with gas cylinders in Dharavi, Mumbai, about a month ago. Many media outlets had published stories covering the blast.
News9 reported that on March 24, a car parked in a no parking zone caught fire, after which a truck loaded with cylinders parked behind the car caught fire, which caused the blast. No injuries were reported in this blast. In this video report, scenes from the viral video are visible after the 0:07 mark.
Mumbai TV posted this video on Instagram claiming it to be from Dharavi.
Aaj Tak and Times Now also covered the fire near Dharavi and showed the same visuals in their reportage.
To sum up, a video of a blast in a truck loaded with cylinders in Dharavi, Mumbai on March 24 is falsely being shared by linking it to Operation Sindoor.
