Players from Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings have departed for national capitals via road from Dharamshala under tight security amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan. The visuals of the departure of players have gone online on social media. On Thursday, the IPL 2025 match between both the teams was suspended midway following air raid alerts in neighbouring cities of Jammu and Pathankot.
The match at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) Stadium was halted during the 11th over of Punjab Kings' innings when a floodlight tower suddenly shut down. While spectators initially assumed it was a technical fault, two additional towers soon failed, plunging parts of the stadium into darkness. As a precaution, the crowd was evacuated.
According to earlier report, train was being organised to move both teams from Dharamsala to Delhi, prioritizing their safety amid rising cross-border tensions. The train was suppose to depart from Una, the nearest railway station to Dharamsala, carrying the squads and officials away from the conflict-affected region.

In the latest development IPL 2025 has been indefinitely suspended following the escalating tension between India and Pakistan. . "It does not look nice that cricket goes on while the country is at war," a BCCI official told PTI, confirming the suspension of the league, which was to wind up on May 25 in Kolkata.
