Rupee recovers from early losses, gains 17 paise to close at 85.41 against US dollar
The Indian rupee rebounded to close at 85.41 against the US dollar on Friday, recovering from a sharp fall, amid RBI intervention and fluctuating geopolitical tensions. Initially weakened by border tensions and rising crude oil prices, the rupee found support as the dollar index softened. Despite this, domestic equities faced a downturn, with the Sensex and Nifty both declining significantly.
