Private hospitals to face action for refusing to treat patients
On the instructions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Cabinet Ministers Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal and Mohinder Bhagat, who reached Amritsar specifically to take stock of residents living in border areas and emergency arrangements made during the current situation, held a meeting with officials of the district administration and reviewed the current situation and preparations.
Talking to mediapersons, they said the Punjab Government was fully prepared to make all kinds of arrangements and other necessary arrangements have also been done along with medical assistance
Dhaliwal said the hospitals will also ensure the treatment of the injured who reach private hospitals during an emergency and action will be taken against the private hospital that shows laxity in this regard. Understanding the need of the agriculture sector, he instructed the power department that due to blackout at night, the agriculture sector is not getting electricity, so they should be ensured power supply during the day.
Cabinet Minister Mohinder Bhagat clarified that the government is keeping a close eye on black marketing and hoarding of essential commodities. He said teams are continuously engaged in this investigation so that no one takes advantage of the opportunity.
He said in the coming days, they will go to border areas and directly interact with people and take their views and make whatever arrangements are required for them. The Cabinet Minister said the Punjab Government, while standing with its residents in this hour of crisis, also salutes the soldiers fighting on the country’s border. On the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney, Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, and district police chief (Rural) Maninder Singh were also present.
Amritsar
