The teaser of Akshay Kumar’s much-awaited comedy movie Housefull 5 was released on April 30. Helmed by Tarun Mansukhani and bankrolled by Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, the multi-starrer film is expected to release on June 6. As the promotions are set to go, a tragedy stuck with the film, as its teaser had been removed from YouTube.
Just within the ten days of release, the movie’s teaser garnered millions of views on Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment’s YouTube channel. However, by the morning of May 9, the teaser was no longer available on the channel. Upon clicking on page, an error message received, “The video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by Mofusion Studios.”
According to report in Hindustan Times, the teaser’s sudden removal from YouTube has raised several questions, and it appears a copyright strike behind the decision. Despite this, there has been no official statement released from the team regarding the same. Moreover, the teaser is still up on Instagram, where various actors from the cast, including Akshay Kumar, Jacqueline Fernandez, Riteish Deshmukh, and Sonam Bajwa had shared it on their Instagram.
Hence, it is unclear what the copyright strike from Mofusion Studios is about. For the unversed, Mofusion is an India-based record company known for producing songs of several renowned artists like Diljit Dosanjh, Jasmine Sandlas, among others. The recent song sung by Yo Yo Honey Singh and Simar Kaur has received widespread love from fans and has already crossed 40 million views on YouTube.
The fifth installment of Housefull comprises a star-studded cast including Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Fardeen Khan, Shreyas Talpade, Nana Patekar, Jackie Shroff, Dino Morea, Jacqueline Fernandez, Nargis Fakhri, Chitrangada Singh, Sonam Bajwa, Soundarya Sharma, Chunky Pandey and Johnny Lever.
