In Farzi, Shahid Kapoor went against Vijay Sethupathi in a nail-biting thriller that impressed hearts both for its plot and performance. The plot revolves around a struggling artist who gets thrust into fame when he starts creating fake notes in the Raj & DK Prime Video India show. The series also featured Kay Kay Menon, Raashi Khanna, and Bhuvan Arora. It was one of the most viewed shows of 2023. The film also took inspiration from some criminal gangs in real life. One gang of five people tried to emulate their screen idol by creating fake currency notes worth lakhs on their face value. But their illegal business was cut short when they were arrested in Lucknow in 2023.
Apart from this, Raj & DK have also spoken about the overall direction of Farzi 2 with the actor of Devaa. The sequel will witness a showdown between Shahid Kapoor, Vijay Sethupathi, and Kay Kay Menon. It will release in the second half of 2026.
The 2023-released Farzi was released on Amazon Prime Video. Led by Shahid Kapoor, it also starred Vijay Sethupathi, Raashii Khanna, Bhuvan Arora, and Kavya Thapar among others in the lead roles.
