CISF's role in airport security expanded to cargo and baggage screening at 69 airports

Following a BCAS directive issued after the Pahalgam terrorist incident, the CISF has expanded its security role at 69 Indian civil airports. Effective until May 18, CISF will temporarily oversee cargo operations and in-line baggage screening. This enhancement introduces a secondary layer of security checks, including random inspections and access control monitoring, to bolster aviation safety protocols.
