Drone falls near Sikri village, missile on Dhoot Khurd in Hoshiarpur district

A drone fell near Sikri village on the Hoshiarpur-Tanda road of the district on Saturday morning and a missile fell on Dhoot Khurd village. An Army team reached the spot and defused explosives installed in the drone before taking it into possession.

Giving information in this regard, village sarpanch Sewa Singh said villagers heard a loud explosion around 5 am in the morning. He also came out after hearing the sound of the explosion. A farm labourer told him that something had fallen in fields near village, which caused an explosion and a lot of smoke was coming out.

Meanwhile, some youths of the village, who had gone to irrigate fields, saw parts of something like a drone scattered at various places.

Sewa Singh told reporters that he immediately informed the police about the explosion. A team from the Bullowal police station immediately reached the spot and removed people from fields. On receiving information, an Army team also reached the spot. The police and Army personnel started an investigation.

As per information one of the large part of the fallen drone had a running display screen. After investigation, the Army team left with the drone. Bullowal police station SHO Maninder Singh said explosives were found in debris of the drone that fell near Sikri village. He said explosives were defused by the Army team on the spot in the evening. He said the Army team took debris of the drone along with them.

Residents of Dhoot Khurd village also heard a loud explosion around 5 am today. Villagers found a parts of missile fallen outside their village, after which they informed the police which reached the spot. The team inspected the parts of missile-like weapon lying outside the village. DSP Davinder Singh Bajwa and SHO Gurinderjit Singh Nagra, who accompanied the police team, checked parts of the fallen missile and informed the Army about it.

Nagra said after getting information, an Army team reached the spot and started investigation. During investigation, it was revealed that the said parts were of an exploded missile-like weapon. Nagra said the Army team had more information about the part.
