Two arrested with narcotics worth Rs 50 lakh in Gurugram
The Gurugram police have arrested two alleged drug peddlers who were transporting charas in a car. A total of 1 kg 361 gram of charas, Rs 7 lakh in cash and a car were seized from their possession.
The seized contraband is estimated to be worth around Rs 50 lakh in the illegal market. According to police, the accused were transporting the narcotics from Manali to Gurugram. A case has been registered at the Manesar police station.
Acting on a tip-off, the Palam Vihar Crime Branch received information that a consignment of charas was being brought for supply near Pachgaon in the Manesar area. The team set up a trap, blocked the road and intercepted a car carrying two men, including the driver. Upon searching the vehicle, the police recovered 1 kg 361 gram of charas along with Rs 7 lakh in cash. Both occupants were taken into custody on the spot.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Rajesh (48), a resident of Mohalla Balbhadra Sarai and Mukesh (38), a resident of Saini Mohalla Kutubpur, both from Rewari district.
During interrogation, police learned that Rajesh works as a taxi driver in Rewari, while Mukesh is involved in trading spare parts from Delhi, which he sells in Rewari.
“Both the accused had brought the charas from Manali and were going to supply it in Gurugram, but before they supply, Gurugram police arrested them. We are questioning the accused,” said a spokesperson of Gurugram police.
