The Rotary Club of Bombay Pier hosted a powerful event of recognition and inspiration on May 11, as it returned with Season 2 of its signature Impact Awards at the National Stock Exchange in Mumbai. The event honoured everyday heroes, individuals who are creating quiet revolutions in communities through their selfless service.

Graced by notable guests, including Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) Milind Deora and Viraj Kulkarni, Hon. Consul General of Cyprus, the evening paid tribute to eight changemakers for their outstanding work across mental health, education, disability support, women’s empowerment, and more.

This year's awardees included:
Simran Walia, for her relentless rescue efforts through Aman’s Animal Rehabilitation Foundation.
Rohit Kumar, who is transforming municipal schools with mental wellness programs via Apni Shala Foundation.
Bharathy Tahiliani, for uplifting vulnerable women through Kshamata’s rehabilitation and employment model.
Elizabeth Mehta, whose Muktangan Education Trust is setting new standards in inclusive, community-based learning.

Ritu Vig, for fostering spaces of joy and support for neurodiverse adults through Special Hangouts.

Reflecting on the event’s spirit, Kamlesh Desai, President of the Rotary Club of Bombay Pier, stated, "At Rotary, we believe in service above self. These awardees exemplify that principle, not through grand gestures, but through consistent, heartfelt action. We are proud to bring their stories into the spotlight."
This year’s awards also marked a milestone in youth engagement, with the official launch of the Club's new Satellite Club, a youth-led initiative focused on grassroots change and innovation. Made up of passionate young individuals from diverse fields, the Satellite Club is designed to encourage fresh thinking, inclusive leadership, and impactful community action.

Past President Mayuri Bhasin, the force behind the initiative, emphasised, "This Satellite Club was born from conviction – the conviction that the future of service lies in the hands of young, passionate individuals. They are not just the leaders of tomorrow; they are the vibrant present of Rotary. We’re proud to support their journey and excited to see the waves they’ll create."
With this dynamic blend of honouring legacy and nurturing the next generation, the Impact Awards continue to evolve as a meaningful celebration of service, social innovation, and lasting impact.
