Govt must provide jobs, relief to shelling victims: MP

POONCH, May 11: Member Parliament Anantnag-Rajouri-Poonch, Mian Altaf today visit Poonch, accessed the situation, losses reported during Pakistani shelling and met with the families of deceased and injured victims and assured them full assistance and cooperation.
Talking to media, MP Mian Altaf said that we have heard and seen the war of past years but Poonch has never witnessed such destruction before. This district especially city suffered huge loss for which we are very sad that innocent people dies leaving behind their children and families. We cannot explain the sadness of this loss and words are short to condemn this.
“I firstly thank god that the ceasefire agreement took place and urged Government of India to reach out here, provide jobs to the families of deceased, compensation to the people who suffered losses in Poonch city as well as other places and announcement of this shall be done within 48 hours from now without any further problem to the people in Poonch which is the first obligation of Government, beside this people who are injured and under treatment must also be look after by the Government”, he added.
He said that it is my duty to meet victims and I will further do what is possible at my end, with a request to Govt of India and UT Government to reach out immediately to the victims and do whatever is necessary for these people that too with open heart.
Meanwhile, administration has started to access the loss reported during this shelling through Revenue Department.
