98 donate blood at camp for armed forces
In a powerful show of solidarity with soldiers engaged in Operation Sindoor and the ongoing tensions with Pakistan, a blood donation camp was organised on Sunday in Phagwara by the Hindustan Welfare Blood Donors Club in collaboration with BSF Punjab Headquarters and several local religious and social organisations.
Held at Shiv Mandir Talab Arooriyan near Mehli Gate, the camp drew significant participation from the community. Former Union Minister Som Parkash and Phagwara MLA Balwinder Singh Dhaliwal, who graced the occasion as chief guests, lauded the contributions of the Indian armed forces.
Presiding over the event, BSF, Punjab, DIG Dr Shiv Kumar, praised the unmatched spirit of people, calling their willingness to donate blood and stand by the forces as “exemplary and inspiring”.
A total of 98 donors came forward during the camp to contribute blood as a gesture of support for the troops.
The camp was organised with the active involvement of local institutions and individuals, including Shiv Mandir president Inderjit Kalra, Parbat Math Trustee Rakesh Duggal, Lions Club president Ashu Markanda, renowned singer Jasvir Mahi, and project directors Neeraj Bakshi and Kush Wadhwa.
