Jailer was a huge success. The Rajinikanth-starrer broke all records and made fans jump on their seat with Thalaiva’s performance. Ever since Jailer made it to the big screens, fans were in eager wait for Jailer 2 to release. The news of Jailer 2 has been making headlines. While Rajinikanth and Ramya Krishnan are set to reprise their roles, many veteran stars including Shiva Rajkumar and Mohanlal are going to be seen doing cameos in the sequel. Recently, a report made it to fans’ screens which claimed that a big South superstar will also be seen in the movie making his cameo.
After the news, many thought that it might be Kamal Haasan or Prabhas, but now a bunch of reports claim that it is neither Kamal nor Prabhas, but the Daaku Maharaj actor Nandamuri Balakrishna. Media reports believe that the makers have roped in Nandamuri for the role of a cop and the actor has charged a whopping fee.
Nandamuri Balakrishna in Jailer 2?
According to a media portal Indiaglitz report, Nandamuri Balakrishna will be seen doing a cameo role for which, surprisingly, makers have agreed to pay a hefty fee. Reports claim that the veteran actor has asked for Rs 50 crore for the cameo role. Jailer 2 has the potential to become a hit minting crores at the box office.
Coming to Jailer, as per industry tracker Sacnilk, Rajinikanth’s Jailer had a net collection of Rs 348.55 crore in India and the total earnings of the film worldwide were Rs 604.5 crore.
Director Nelson Dilipkumar’s plan for Jailer 2
In an interview given to Cinemavikatan in 2023, Nelson had told that he wanted to cast Balakrishna in Jailer, but then his character could not fit in the script. However, this time it seems that Nelson Dilipkumar’s dream of casting the veteran actor did come true. Jailer 2, as per reports, boasts an ensemble cast with names like megastar Rajinikanth, Ramya Krishnan, Mirna Menon, Yogi Babu and superstar Mohanlal in cameo.
