BKU (Rajewal) activists gherao BBMB office in Nangal over release of water to Haryana

Bhartiya Kisan Union (Rajewal) led by president Balbir Singh Rajewal on Monday organised a dharna outside the office of the chief engineer, Nangal Dam, of the Bhakra Beas Management Board, over the release of additional water to Haryana.

Rajewal said they had come here to lodge a protest and that the issue would be taken up at a meeting of Samyukt Kisan Morcha.

Rajewal said it was unfortunate that Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann had criticised the farmer unions for “not supporting” his fight against the BBMB over the share. The CM was trying to divide the farm unions, he alleged.

The BKU (Rajewal) activists did not join the dharna by the AAP workers at Nangal Dam and organised their dharna outside the BBMB office.
