Earthquake of 4.6 magnitude strikes Pakistan

Islamabad: A 4.6 magnitude earthquake on the Ritcher scale jolted Pakistan on Monday afternoon at 1:26 pm, as per National Center for Seismology (NCS). The latitude of the quake was 29.12N and the longitude 67.26 E with a depth of 10 km. No immediate reports of damage or casualties have been received.

It is worth noting that this is the third quake in two weeks that struck the neighbouring country. On May 10, a 4.0 magnitude quake hit Pakistan early morning at 1:44 a.m, the National Center for Seismology tweeted. A 10-km-deep earthquake struck at 29.67 degrees North latitude and 66.10 degrees East longitude.

A 4.2 magnitude earthquake hit parts of Pakistan and Afghanistan on May 5th, preceding a more recent seismic event. The May 5th quake, originating at a shallow depth of 10 km, increased the probability of subsequent tremors, according to the National Center for Seismology (NCS).
