Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis Conducts Security Assessment Meeting With Top Security Officials At Official Residence 'Varsha'
Mumbai: On Monday, Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis conducted a high-level security assessment meeting with officials from the armed forces in light of the recent tensions between India and Pakistan.
The state government emphasized the importance of improved collaboration between the government and central agencies via efficient intelligence sharing, technology utilization, and precautionary measures, while also advocating for an emphasis on cybersecurity and protection of India's financial capital.
The CM highlighted the necessity for improved and quicker collaboration between state and central agencies in addressing any attack and ensuring preparedness.
“The accuracy and power demonstrated by the Indian defence forces during Operation Sindoor was unmatched.” Mumbai, the nation's financial hub, holds great significance. "We must operate at full capacity, and for that, the sharing of intelligence is vital," he claimed.
The gathering, conducted at the Chief Minister’s official residence ‘Varsha’, was joined by high-ranking officials from the tri-services, delegates from the Reserve Bank of India, Bombay Stock Exchange, Mumbai Port Trust, and others.
"All individuals must exercise more caution regarding cybersecurity." He stated, "Senior officials from the state government and defence forces must collaborate closely for improved coordination."
The meeting saw attendance from Lt General Pawan Chadha and Colonel Sandeep Seal of the army, Rear Admiral Anil Jaggi and Commander Nitesh Garg from the navy, Air Vice Marshal Rajat Mohan of the air force, in addition to deputy chief ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, along with other officials from the state government.
On Friday, the CM convened a meeting with essential government agencies and departments, instructing them to establish war rooms and devise plans at the district level to raise awareness among the public as tensions between India and Pakistan escalated.
