Operation Sindoor: New red lines with Pakistan drawn, PM Modi to address the nation at 8 pm

In a first since India launched ‘Operation Sindoor’ as a national response to destroy Pakistan-sponsored terror infrastructure and declared all objectives achieved, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the nation tonight.

Top sources said the address, which will detail the Indian position on Pakistan-sponsored terror and the revised war doctrine of the country on the issue, will happen around 8 PM.

Since the launch of Operation Sindoor, which was India’s answer to the faith-based killing of 26 tourists in Pahalgam on April 22, the Prime Minister has addressed six top security review meetings.

The PM’s message to the military and security brass has been clear—terror victims and perpetrators cannot be equated. “If they fire a bullet, we will fire a bomb,” he said to the military commanders.

Throughout the Operation that was launched at 1.04 am on May 7 and has paused as per an understanding reached with Pakistan on Saturday, the PM has been constantly monitoring national security scenarios and giving directions to top brass.

All commanders have been given full freedom to respond to any Pakistani misadventure.

The Forces have said Operation Sindoor is under way and its immediate objectives, political (suspension of Indus Waters Treaty to hurt Pakistan), military (Pakistan air defence system and major assets crippled) and psychological (Indian military hit Pakistani terror networks in its heart, including Army headquarters in Rawalpindi) stand achieved.

The Prime Minister will comment on the Operation, its outcomes and the way forward for India, which has established its military superiority and is not in a position to redefine rules of engagement in South Asia.
