PM Modi addresses nation on Op Sindoor, India-Pakistan tensions and more: Key highlights from PM’s speech

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday evening addressed the nation on Operation Sindoor, India-Pakistan tensions, the subsequent ceasefire and other issues.

  • PM Modi saluted the efforts of the Indian Armed Forces.
  • The Prime Minister condemned last month’s heinous terrorist attack in Pahalgam.
  • He said that the terrorists aimed to disrupt India’s communal harmony and disturb the peaceful coexistence between Hindus and Muslims.
  • The Prime Minister appreciates the opposition and every Indian leader for standing united in the efforts to counter terrorism.
  • “Every terrorist and terror organization now knows the consequence of trying to wipe the ‘Sindoor’ from the forehead of an Indian woman,” said the PM.
  • During the intervening night of May 6 and May 7, India carried out precise strikes on terrorist training centers deep inside Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK), said PM Modi

  • Pakistan Army contacted India’s DGMO, promised end to any further terrorist activity and military audacity. “After India’s aggressive action, Pakistan started looking for ways to escape. Pakistan was appealing to the world to reduce tensions and after being badly beaten, the Pakistani army contacted our DGMO on the afternoon of May 10. By then, we had destroyed the infrastructure of terrorism on a large scale and the terrorists were killed. Therefore, when Pakistan said that it would not show any further terrorist activity and military audacity, India also considered it…” said PM Modi.
