NSUI rallies support for Army
In the backdrop of conflict with Pakistan, the National Student Union of India (NSUI) held a rally today in support of the Indian Armed Forces, expressing deep admiration for their performance. State President Abhimanyu Thkaur led the rally and recalled the leadership of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, whose decisive actions during the 1971 war led to the creation of Bangladesh.
Thkaur emphasised that in times of national crisis, decisions must come from India’s own leadership. He criticized US President Donald Trump’s involvement in declaring a ceasefire, stating that such decisions should solely rest with the Indian government. “People are surprised by this kind of foreign diplomacy,” he remarked, adding that the sudden ceasefire demoralized Indian soldiers who were on the verge of securing a decisive outcome.
He praised the Indian Army for their valiant efforts, saying they had forced Pakistan into submission. However, he expressed disappointment with the Union Government’s response, suggesting it fell short of public expectations. Thkaur stressed that Pakistan-backed terrorism should have been dealt with more firmly to set a lasting precedent.
Referring to the recent Pahalgam terror incident that killed 27 innocent tourists, Thakur noted the widespread public anger and the lack of updates on the attackers’ whereabouts. He assured that NSUI youth stand firmly behind the Indian Army and are ready to serve the nation in any capacity required.
Earlier, NSUI students marched through Gandhi Chowk raising slogans such as “Indira Gandhi zindabad,” “Bhartiya Sena zindabad” and “Tiranga hi lehraya tha, Tiranga hi lehrayega” expressing national pride and solidarity with the armed forces.
