Air India, IndiGo Cancel Flight Operations In These Routes Today: Check Details

Air India and IndiGo on Tuesday announced the cancellation of two-way flight operations in several routes for today in view of the India-Pakistan tensions.

The announcement regarding flight cancellations was first made by IndiGo late night on Monday. The airline cancelled flights to and from Jammu, Chandigarh, Amritsar, Leh, Srinagar, and Rajkot for May 13.

"We understand how this may disrupt your travel plans, and regret the inconvenience caused. Our teams are actively monitoring the situation and will promptly keep you informed of further updates," IndiGo stated in its travel advisory. The airline also advised passenger to check their flight status before heading to the airport.

Following IndiGo's advisory, Air India made a similar announcement on Tuesday, stating that flights to and from Jammu, Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Chandigarh, and Rajkot are cancelled for Tuesday, May 13.

"We are monitoring the situation and will keep you updated," Air India said in a statement posted on X. 

Earlier Air India had announced that it is working towards commencing flights to and from Jammu, Srinagar, Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Chandigarh and Rajkot.

The Airports Authority of India (AAI) on Monday also announced the reopening of 32 airports across northern and western India for civil flight operations. The airports were reopened three days after their temporary closure was extended until next Thursday (May 15) amid escalating India-Pakistan conflict.

Meanwhile, the Indian Army stated Monday that no enemy drones have been reported on Indian territory, and that the situation remains calm and completely under full control. 

According to news agency ANI, red streaks were seen and explosions heard in Samba sector in J&K on Monday nght. However, Army sources told ANI that comparatively a very small number of drones came in Samba sector, which were engaged.
