HRTC resumes day services to Jammu, Punjab
The Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HTRC) today resumed its day services to Jammu, Pathankot and Amritsar. The decision on the resumption of night services on these routes would be taken largely on the basis of occupancy.
The HRTC had suspended its services on these routes following the outbreak of hostilities between India and Pakistan.
After the resumption of services on these routes, passengers would be able to travel to Punjab and Jammu as before. Due to shelling and tension on the border, the HRTC had suspended 38 services to these stations. With the ceasefire coming into effect, the HRTC restored 29-day services. The decision on the resumption of the nine night routes would be taken shortly.
As the services were suspended over the past four or five days, the passengers were hassled and they had to take buses to these stations from Chandigarh.
