Who Is Hafiz Abdur Rauf? Pakistan's 'Common Man' & Active LeT Member Leading Funeral Of Terrorists Killed In India's Operation Sindoor
Islamabad: After pictures of US-designated global terrorist Hafiz Abdur Rauf surfaced online leading the funeral prayers of terrorists killed in the Indian precision strikes during Operation Sindoor, the Pakistan armed forces tried to portray him as a "common man". Pakistan's Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry denied that Rauf was a terrorist, but he called him "a common family man."
"This man is Hafiz Abdur Rauf, who is leading the prayers. He has three daughters, a son, and he was born in March 1973. You can see his family details and everything," Chaudhry had said during a press conference.
India quickly responded and pointed out that the Pakistan Army and terrorists are hand in glove. "The identity details shared by DG ISPR completely overlap with the details of Hafiz Abdur Rauf, a member of LeT's senior leadership since at least 1999 and part of the US Sanctions List," the Press Information Bureau said in a statement.
