Rush Peaks On Jabalpur–Mumbai Route: No Confirmed Tickets; Check Out Details Below

Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): The Jabalpur to Mumbai train route is facing a massive rush this summer.

The only direct train, Garib Rath Express, is fully booked, with a waiting list over 100 for the entire month.

Despite extra special trains, passengers are unable to get confirmed tickets.

The situation has worsened due to summer holidays and the wedding season, leading to a sharp rise in passenger numbers.

Even after adding special trains from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar to Mumbai via Jabalpur, the demand is far more than the available seats.

Special Trains Not Enough

To handle the crowd, West Central Railway started special trains—Rewa to Mumbai CSMT (till June 27) and Jabalpur to Bandra (till May 30)—but they run only once a week and are already overloaded.

Passengers are also unhappy with high fares and frequent delays of special trains. Even after paying more, they face hours of waiting. Regular trains are given priority and usually run on time, while special trains suffer delays.

Call for a New Daily Superfast Train

Passengers are demanding a new daily superfast train between Jabalpur and Mumbai. This would reduce pressure, offer fair prices, and improve punctuality.

A daily service would also help travelers heading to Pune and Goa, who now have limited options and depend on Mumbai connections.
