WATCH: Virat Kohli makes first appearance after Test retirement, visits… with wife Anushka Sharma, video goes viral

New Delhi: Just a day after announcing his retirement from Test cricket, Virat Kohli was spotted in Vrindavan on Tuesday, accompanied by his wife Anushka Sharma. It seemed like a quiet, spiritual pause for the couple after an emotional milestone in Kohli’s cricketing journey.

The couple visited renowned spiritual leader Premanand Maharaj at Vrindavan Dham to seek his blessings. Known to be devoted followers of Swami Premanand Maharaj, Virat and Anushka have made several quiet visits to Vrindavan over the years, often turning to spirituality during significant moments in their lives.

Kohli’s decision to hang up his Test boots marks the end of a remarkable 14-year journey—one where he conquered all kinds of conditions, regions, and bowling attacks. Whether as a batter or as captain, he left a lasting mark on the longest format of the game.

In his Test career, the 36-year-old featured in 123 matches in whites, amassing 9,230 runs at an average of 46.85. His impressive record includes 30 centuries, 31 fifties, and a career-best score of 254* across 210 innings. Kohli finishes as India’s fourth-highest run-scorer in the format, behind only the legendary trio of Sachin Tendulkar (15,921), Rahul Dravid (13,265), and Sunil Gavaskar (10,122).

Kohli made his Test debut in June 2011 against the West Indies. Though his first outing in the format was underwhelming—scoring just 76 runs in five innings—he quickly turned things around. In the months that followed, a young and fearless Virat began to make his mark with bold, counter-attacking performances that hinted at the star he was about to become.
