What’s New This Year?
Starting from the academic session 2024–25, CBSE has introduced a ‘Relative Grading’ system. The aim is to ease pressure on students and move away from rigid competition.
Under the old system, grades were given based on fixed marks (for example, 91–100 = A1, 81–90 = A2). In the new model, grades will now depend on how students perform in relation to others in the same subject. This means grade cutoffs may differ from one subject to another and from year to year, based on overall performance trends.
