The IAF had successfully deployed the S-400 missile defence systems to foil Pakistan's attempts to target Indian military installations on the night of May 7-8 and again May 8-9. Pakistani strikes had followed Indian military's May 7 Operation Sindoor which hit nine terror training camps in Pakistan and PoK killing over 100 terrorists. The S-400 system India used is considered one of the most lethal surface to air missile systems in the world. It is one of the most advanced long range defence systems and its radars track targets at a distance of 600 km. India had hit terror infrastructures including Let and JeM training camps at Muridke and Bahawalpur triggering a backlash from Pakistan. PM in his televised address to the nation yesterday said "Pakistan instead of supporting India's fight against terror attacked India. Pakistani Army officers attended funerals of dreaded terrorists in a massive proof of state sponsored terrorism."
